Welcome to Our Great Room

During the Renaissance, it was common for Aristocrats to have Great Rooms in their estates that showcased their extensive collections of paintings, sculptures and other fine art.  Unlike modern museums in contemporary society, the paintings were not accompanied by illuminating biographical information on the artists or intriguing information on the various motifs explored in the paintings. Aristocrats often decked their walls with  scores of paintings and allowed viewers to make their own intellectual assessments of the art.  Of course, the presentation of such art inevitably served as a catalyst for countless conversations about the subject matters explored in these private exhibitions.   Welcome to our Great Room.  We hope the experience is sublime!
